HALOSTAIN TC is a water based decorative and protective wood stain for exterior rough sawn timber such as fencing, garden sheds, stables and cladding. It is resistant to moss, lichen and algae growth, easy to use and can be readily applied over old creosoted timbers giving them a new lease of life.
DESCRIPTION
Composition
HALOSTAIN TC is a water based ready to use coating.
Appearance
Low odour, aqueous solution available in Deep Chestnut.
Performance
HALOSTAIN TC is a deep penetrating stain which provides water shedding and resistance to decay, algae and natural greying. HALOSTAIN TC provides a quick drying, easy to maintain decorative finish, with lasting colour and a life expectancy of up to 5 years.
Areas of use
• Suitable for use on all above ground timbers
• New and old fencing timbers and panels
• Old creosoted timbers
• New and old sheds
• Exterior cladding, fascias, panelling and many more rough sawn timber features requiring stain.
NOTE: HALOSTAIN TC should NOT be used on below ground timbers.
Storage
Store in frost free conditions and keep airtight.
Coverage
HALOSTAIN TC will cover 5 to 12 sq m per litre for first coat and 12 to 20 sq m per litre for second coat. Coverages dependent on coarseness and porosity of timber.
Availability
Supplied in ready to use form in 5 litre and 2.5 litre containers in Deep Chestnut.
HALOSTAIN TC APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Preparation
Minimum preparation is required. Timbers should be still brushed free of dirt, algae etc. In extreme cases kill algae growths with LICHENITE. Avoid contaminating garden plants and the like.
Mixing
Thoroughly stir prior to application. Mix thoroughly before and periodically during use.
Application
Normally by brush but can be sprayed using low pressure spray (not airless) equipment.
NOTE: When spraying, slightly extra dilution with water may be required.
Do not apply in wet or frosty conditions, or when there is a risk of same during drying. Application is preferable to dry timber but slightly damp timbers can be treated successfully.
HALOSTAIN TC is re-coatable in 1-3 hours in normal drying conditions.
Plants and Animals
HALOSTAIN TC can be used in and around greenhouses and animal housing. Plants and animals may be re-introduced when coating is dry.
Cleaning
Clean equipment in water.
Shelf Life
18 months in an unopened container.
Drying Time
1-3 hours depending on conditions.

Delivery
We will aim to process your order for despatch to you between 1-5 working days of confirming acceptance of your order. Consequently, even if you cancel your order shortly after placing it, it is possible that we may be unable to prevent goods you have ordered being despatched to you and you may then need to return them to us at your cost.
When you order your Goods, we will wherever possible, give you an indication of the day of delivery, normally 2-5 working days after confirming acceptance of your order.
Deliveries will be made by post/a carrier instructed by us to the address stipulated in your order. You must ensure that someone is present to accept delivery.
While a delivery date will be prearranged with you, please remember that it is generally not possible to contact the delivery driver once he has left the depot. As a signature is required on delivery, if you will not be at home to take the delivery, a signed note instructing the driver where to leave the goods is acceptable. Otherwise a re-delivery charge will be incurred.
Cancellation of Order
If you bought the Goods as a Consumer, you may cancel your order at any time before we despatch your order or before the expiry of 7 working days from the date you receive your order, not including the day you received it.
As required by the Distance Selling Regulations, details of our after-sales service and guarantees, if any, are given on our website.
If you cancel before we have sent the Goods, we will refund to you the price of the Goods and the cost of delivery, if any.
Goods returned
Our most important task is to ensure your absolute satisfaction. We will always strive to reach that target. However, we acknowledge that mistakes are made occasionally. This paragraph covers that possibility. If you are not wholly satisfied with the product, please tell us at the earliest opportunity:
- Exactly what the fault is
- The date, if relevant, when the fault became apparent
- When and how you discovered the fault
- How the fault affected your use of the Goods
To do this, it is essential that you follow the instructions below. These provisions apply in the event that you return Goods to us because you say they are faulty:
You must tell us by email message to (info@mgcltd.co.uk) or by letter to our land address at the top of this page you that you would like to return Goods, specifying exactly what Goods and when purchased, giving full details of the defect or other reason for return. We will then issue a returns note. If you send Goods to us without a returns note, we may not be able to identify sufficient details to enable us to attend to your complaint.
The Goods must be returned to us as soon as any defect is discovered.
So far as possible, Goods should be returned:
- With both Goods and all packaging, as far as possible, in their original condition
- Securely wrapped
- Including our delivery slip
- At your risk and cost.
