APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE TREATMENT OF MOULD

For dealing with MOULD GROWTH on surfaces such as walls and ceilings, window frames, doors, skirting boards, etc.

STAGE 1: Use the RLT BACTDET 05 to kill and remove surface mould before preparation work.

Areas to be treated: Treat the whole area where mould can be seen. Extend the treatment one metre (3ft) beyond the infected area in all directions on the walls or ceilings. Carpets should be lifted, especially fitted carpets and the flooring cleaned using the RLT BACTDET 05.

Directions: Put 1 measure, by volume, of RLT BACTDET 05 into 4 measures, by volume, of warm water. Take a brush or clean cloth and wash off the mould.

When the solution becomes dirty, make up a new solution. If the cloth or sponge becomes dirty, throw away and use a clean one.

Wallpaper surfaces must be washed prior to stripping. After wallpaper has been removed wash infected area again.

All wallpaper removed should be bagged, sealed and taken from the premises immediately. Allow surface to dry before proceeding.

After washing, gloss painted areas must be etched using sandpaper or similar, before proceeding to Stage 2.

STAGE 2: Decoration

The application of BIOCHECK EMULSION to walls and ceilings is by brush or roller. Two coats are normally required. The first coat may be thinned with approximately 10% clean water. DO NOT THIN THE SECOND COAT.

Wash brushes or rollers thoroughly in plenty of clean water after use.

BIOCHECK must not be mixed with other emulsion paints. Colour tints can be obtained by use of Universal Tinters.

Coverage: The covering capacity of BIOCHECK EMULSION is approximately 12 square metres per litre, per coat, depending on the porosity of the surface.

IMPORTANT: Mould often results from condensation. To lessen the problem ensure adequate ventilation, preferably from a point near the source of the moisture, usually kitchens and bathrooms.
