Biocheck Allweather is a Pliolite® resin-based masonry paint developed to give long term protection to masonry surfaces undergoing redecoration.

External decoration is time consuming and costly. It is not uncommon for redecorated properties – to the total dismay of the homeowner or specification – to show signs of ageing and weathering long before completing their anticipated life span.

There are many factors that contribute to the early breakdown of coatings, two of the most common are that the substrate was not correctly prepared prior to redecoration and inappropriate materials were used to treat external growths of moss, lichen and algae.

Over the past 20 years the problems of external growths have increased dramatically. As a result of the reduction in air pollution and carbon emissions there have been a huge increase in airborne spores of mosses, lichens and algae and unless treated correctly will subsequently reduce the life expectancy of masonry paints. There are 100s of varieties of algae and external growths which attack masonry surfaces, predominantly green or black, however in certain areas of the UK there is a red algae called Trentepohlia Aurea which is particularly virulent.

Biocheck Allweather Pliolite® resin-based masonry paint has been specifically formulated incorporating active biocides to provide long term protection against these damaging and disfiguring growths. It is a superior masonry coating which provides protection against wind-driven rain, sun, temperature extremes and atmospheric pollution whilst at the same time retaining its decorative appearance.

The paint provides excellent adhesion to the building substrate and will penetrate and adhere to even the most difficult masonry surface without the need for a separate primer. The coating acts as a total barrier to rain, however, is micro porous and will allow moisture in the wall to pass through the paint film without blistering.

It's formulated in such a way that it is “self-cleaning”. A few microns of the surface are regularly removed by rain which removes any retained dirt but without affecting the life expectancy of the coating.

The all weather coating allows application to continue in condition and at the time of year which it would not be possible to proceed with traditional water based masonry paints.

Benefits:

• 15 years life expectancy
• Resistant to algae growth
• Breathable coating
• Self-cleaning
• Excellent adhesion
• Alkali resistant
• Application at low temperatures
• Resistant to rain after 20 minutes
