MGC's
CONTRACTS DIVISION was established over 20 years ago to give clients a one-stop service
in the diagnosis and treatment of most damp-related problems. The Division has grown substantially due to
the demand from Local Authorities and Housing Associations for the services
which provide a full guarantee on all treatments carried out.
Condensation, dampness and black mould have become
major maintenance problems and, in particular, where landlords are being sued
by tenants under the Environmental Protection Act for nuisance, when
mould/condensation within a dwelling has been judged to be prejudicial to
health. It is also a Category 1 hazard
under the Health and Housing Safety Rating Scheme (HHSRS).
Where complaints of ‘dampness' are being received
one of our surveyors will visit the property on your behalf, carry out a full
survey of the problems occurring, then submit a written report diagnosing the
defects and cause, with a specification and cost for rectifying the situation.
Problems in industrial and commercial properties can
be more complex, sometimes resulting from flooding, roof leaks and bursts. In these circumstances, MGC can provide
additional services of sampling of airborne contaminations, swab tests, plate
tests and moisture readings of wall, ceiling and floor substrates.
